Get Organized: 5 Ways to Maximize Storage Space in the Bedroom
November 25, 2015
With the launch of our Graco dressers this month, we’re thinking of all the ways to incorporate them into the kids’ rooms. Whether you’re welcoming a new addition to the family or moving the Little One on up to the big boy/girl’s own space, take a look at our 5 ideas for getting organized with our Graco Brookyln and Kendall dresser collections.
- Divide and Conquer: With all those itty-bitty outfits and accessories that aren’t quite large enough to fold away and can easily get lost piles, whip your nursery into shape with drawer dividers. They’re easily available at any department store, or if you want to be able to get creative, customize the size and pattern of the dividers with a DIY here
- It’s All About the Space, ‘Bout the Space: In order to maximize that floor space, consider tucking a 3 or 6 drawer dresser into the closet. With baby’s clothing being so tiny, you’ll have plenty of room right underneath that clothing rod.
- Label It: Are the grandparents or babysitter taking over for a bit? Or maybe your Little One or his/her sibling is ready to help mommy or daddy put away laundry. Keep things easy to find with some drawer pull tags. Check out these cute printables for labels here and here. Just print them, laminate if you’d like, punch in a hole at the top and string a ribbon through!
- Baskets: …Are your new best friend, if they’re not already. To avoid making the top of a dresser a “catch all” for random clutter, maximize storage on the top with pretty baskets or corral loose items in trays. High-frequency use items like diapers, creams and drool cloths will be ready whenever you need to reach for them.
Double Duty: We love the idea of using a 3 drawer dresser as a nightstand for a big boy/girl’s room. For a nursery, place one as a “side table” next to a glider chair. It’s the perfect way to maximize storage while still providing a low surface to keep things at the fingertips.
