The cushions are comfortable enough for a 2 hour nap, the color is great and its a great value. I couldnt be happier with it.
Rocking my baby to sleep
This rocker and ottoman is fantastic! Assembly was fast and easy! Good price and the quality is much better than expected! I’m a big guy and even I get to use this piece often without any worry of it breaking. Fabric is nice and easy to clean and suffice it to say I am a very satisfied customer.
Great and Comfortable!
What a great buy! I’m so glad I ordered this chair out of all of the ones out there. It was easy to put together and so comfortable! I spend most of my nights in this chair now a days with our newborn and the cushioning is so comfortable and the ottoman is perfect! Great buy!!
For me, what’s great about this glider is that it was comfortable for someone of my size (over 6 feet and more than 200 lbs). This really is the perfect product to compliment a baby nursery. Stay tuned to this blog for more details on this great product giveaway, as it will be up and running very soon!
In a poll that was not even close, the Stork Craft Tuscany Glider defeated the Stork Craft Sheffield Crib (getting more than 4 times as many votes)!!! What does this all mean? It means that Jennifer Leigh Designz will be hosting this glider review and giveaway. Stay tuned to both this blog and her blog for more information on this exciting giveaway…
Happy Friday everybody!
Getting your baby to sleep in a crib during the first few months can be both frustrating and challenging. The reality is that every baby has different tendencies and needs, most of which take time to get used to (for both the baby and the parents).
I recently sat down with my sister Haley, who has a 4 week old baby girl named Kacey. I was interested in her perspective as a first-time mother and if she had any successful tips to give other moms trying to get their newborns comfortable sleeping in a crib. This is what she had to say:
For many reasons, it is common for parents to put their baby next to their bed in a bassinet to sleep for the first few weeks or months of the baby’s life. This is what we are currently doing with our four week old baby, however during the day when she goes for short naps, we put her in her beautiful nursery to sleep in her ‘Status‘ crib. This way, we know that when we are ready to transition her to sleeping in her own room, she will have no problems sleeping in her crib. We have friends who’s babies have had very difficult times making the switch to sleeping in their cribs after never having been in a crib for the first three or more months of their lives. We believe we are preventing that sort of struggle from happening to us in the future, as she is able to sleep happily in her crib already.
There are some good articles available online on getting your baby to sleep in a crib easier:
We encourage you to leave a comment on this blog and post your own advice on what has worked for your baby, which may help other first-time mommies out
**I had to replace the Soom Soom Toddler Bed with the Tuscany Glider because the bed is currently sold-out everywhere
I really enjoy leaving it up to the Stork Craft blog readers to choose our next contest giveaway. I’m having a really difficult time choosing which one of these products to giveaway next because they’re both so great! Here is a little bit of info on both of these products to help with your decision.
Storkcraft – Sheffield Stages Crib (in espresso or white)
This espresso (or white) crib offers timeless and elegant style at very affordable price. The crib features a static-side design for stability and also converts to a full-size bed providing years of use. The clean and simple lines make this crib a perfect fit in any nursery.
Storkcraft Tuscany Glider and Ottoman (in cherry, espresso, cognac)
The Storkcraft Tuscany set offers gentle motion at feeding time. Enclosed metal ball-bearings allow for an incredibly smooth motion. Microfiber spot-cleanable cushions ease the worry about spills, while the solid wood construction gives the Storkcraft glider and ottoman a sturdy fit and finish you’ll appreciate far beyond the baby years.

One of my previous Canwood posts from October had almost 40 responses so this will be a newer place to voice your questions or comments about this furniture line. The interest in Canwood is huge, as can be seen from sales and number of inquiries about Canwood products. I’m not surprised, as we just did a photoshoot here and I had the opportunity to see some Canwood in person: it is beautiful, high quality pine furniture priced very reasonably. The sturdiness of these beds is evident when you see and feel them; I’m 210 lbs and these beds could even accommodate a person my size (although not for a loft bed or the top of a bunk bed, these have a 165 lb maximum).
So here’s your chance to ask me whatever you want to about Canwood. I will answer you promptly and as best I can.
Walmart.com is also rolling back the all new Stork Craft Tuscany Beds (twin and full size) as well as the Beatrice Beds (twin and full size). These beds are made from high quality wood and come in both cherry and espresso colors.

For months and months, my whole family was waiting in anticipation for my sister Haley’s first baby. I was excited, but I didn’t really know what to expect. It was hard for me to imagine what a new baby in the family would be like, as we haven’t had one in our immediate family since my brother was born in 1990. Uncle Adam had a nice ring to it, but what kind of uncle would I be to Kacey? While many of these questions are still unanswered, I must say that the first 10 days of me being an uncle have been both proud and exciting for me. My sister and her husband have invited me over to see Kacey and I’ve jumped at every chance to hold her. At first I was pretty nervous to go anywhere near her as she is so tiny and delicate, but I think I’m much better now.
I want Kacey to think of me as a cool, fun, caring uncle to her. Although she probably won’t remember these last 10 days with me, I know that I will never forget them.
Even though his mother Randi won the Rocking Horse giveaway, Tristan came away the big winner. I’m told that although he looks like he’s in pain in this picture, that this is the face he makes when he is told to smile. According to his mother, Tristan is loving the Rocking Horse!
Enjoy it Tristan, and giddy up!
Yesterday morning I had the privilege of meeting my brand new baby niece, Kacey Skye. She was born the morning of April 20th a healthy 6 lbs, 15 ounces. This is my sister’s first ever child and my parents first ever grandchild, so she is sure to be a spoiled little girl! Uncle Adam got to hold her yesterday and she started crying, but maybe one day she’ll learn to like him
I will post pictures of her nursery very soon. At her Mom’s house she has a complete set of Status Furniture – Sussex Collection and at her Nana’s (my Mom does NOT want to be called Grandma) she has the Stork Craft Aspen Crib in Black. Lucky girl!
Stay tuned for more pics…
