IS THE TUSCANY MODEL #04588-499 PART OF THE RECALL?

  2. by Adam S. on January 20, 2010 at 2:12 pm

No, the Tuscany is a fixed side crib and is not a part of the voluntary recall. The recall is only for plastic, drop-side cribs made between 1993 and 2009.

Hi Adam,It's great that you have this blog up for your customers. We have just gotten a Ragazzi crib from our neighbor that I wanted to check on before we use it for our baby. The model number is: 2501-89 and is dated 12/2000.Please let me know if this is part of the recall and what we need to make it safe for our child.Thank you.

Hello,Your crib is not part of this recall. This recall is for Stork Craft drop-side cribs with plastic hardware made between January 1993 and October 2009. To ensure your crib is safe for your child, please ensure that there are no missing or broken parts. We do not recommend using a second hand crib, but if you do so then make sure when it is reassembled that the instructions are adhered to. If you notice any missing or broken pieces, please do not place your child in the crib, disgard it and purchase a new crib.

Thanks so much for getting back to me about the Ragazzi 2501-89 crib made in 12/2000 . So you're sure that this crib is not recalled? It does have plastic hardware. I thought Ragazzi was part of Stork Craft?

  8. by Adam Segal on June 10, 2010 at 6:56 am

Yes, this recall was only for Stork Craft cribs. While it is true that Ragazzi was part of Stork Craft, that was only as of the year 2006 or so. Your Ragazzi crib was prior to this takeover. Ragazzi uses a different drop-side system.Once again, to ensure your crib is safe for your child, please confirm that there are no missing or broken parts. We do not recommend using a second hand crib, but if you do so then make sure when it is reassembled that the instructions are adhered to. If you notice any missing or broken pieces, please do not place your child in the crib, disgard it and purchase a new crib.
