Summer Love for Pink and Blue!

I am definitely loving the infusion of colour that StorkCraft has been including in its products lately!  We recently welcomed the Caribou and Longhorn bunks in the most adorable princess pink and ocean-sailing navy.  Each style comes in both colours, as well as the classic white, cherry and espresso.  While it’s easy to immediately draw towards gender specific themes when it comes to accessorizing these bunk beds, what do you think of the themes shown below for paring with either of the bed colours?

A Day in the Life Of… Being Mom

You’ve probably seen quite a few of these already out there on the net, especially on Facebook.  They have them for all sorts of professions like accountants, engineers, etc.  Here’s one for moms that I couldn’t help but smile after I saw it posted up on Today’s Parent Magazine’s Facebook page.

Welcome, Sears Canada!

Stork Craft had the pleasure of welcoming Sears Canada to our headquarters on Monday to tour our facilities.  I was impressed to see that what I felt was a mundane Sears of yesteryears’ is now replaced with a team of savvy buyers and merchandize managers that truly understand today’s sophisticated and informed shopper.

Sears knows that revamping itself is not just about doing some renovations in its stores and then simply expecting customers to walk in.  It is about bringing in a product offering that is well edited to feature innovative designs and offer good value.  All the items are selected to be suited to the lifestyle of the modern family.

Great products, now how to access them?   On top of its traditional catalogue, Sears also offers online shopping.  More than just about shopping from the convenience of your own home, the site is well laid out with product descriptions, as well as reviews by customers.  Got any questions that you would like to know about a specific product?  When you click on a product to view its full content the bottom of each page has an “Answer Area”.  Just post your inquiry up right there and then!  The manufacturer of the product will answer to the post directly!  How great is that?  No more hanging on the phone line for customer service or doing mad Google searches!

Love to browse in real life and get your hands on the product to test it out before buying?  Drop by your nearest Sears that has The Kids Room.  The Kids Room is now at 50 and more Sears locations across Canada.  In it is The Baby Room where you will find everything that you will need to set up that nursery.  Meet a sales associate in The Baby Room to inquire them about all the product questions that you may have.  I attended Sears’ vendor expo back in May, where Sears flies in their Baby Room sales associates to interact with their suppliers.  Having fielded the feedback and questions about StorkCraft products during the expo, I can say that these specially trained associates have a vast and detailed product knowledge and a passion for what they do!  Anyone walking to Sears’ Baby Room will be in good hands!

Below are a few vignettes that we had set up in our showroom for Sears to view.  You can purchase all these at Sears Canada store.

All About Baby?

At StorkCraft, our world revolves around baby: Where baby will sleep, where baby will get changed, where all those baby clothes and accessories get stored, and how all these individual pieces of furniture will all come together in baby’s room.  But as any parent will know, putting a nursery together is only cracking the long, long list of items to knock off when a parent or parent-to-be is anticipating for that day when baby is welcomed home.  With all the preparation and excitement, it’s easy to lose yourself in the hustle and bustle, and place your relationship with your partner on backburner.  Here are a few articles from Today’s Parent that we love on new parenthood and keeping those relationships strong.  Sometimes in order to make it “all about baby”, you need to take the time to make it about growing and maintaining healthy relationships that will give the support that everyone involved needs to raise a happy child.
